Etihad Airways will increase Abu Dhabi–Damascus service from four to seven weekly flights from 14 November 2026. The airline announced the change on 7 October, following the route's launch in June.
The additional three frequencies represent a 75% increase in weekly flight frequency. That calculation does not establish the same percentage increase in seats, because the announcement does not specify the aircraft configuration for each departure.
More choice across the week
Etihad attributes the expansion to demand and highlights family, business and connecting traffic. Moving to daily service gives travellers more departure-day choices, an important distinction from simply adding capacity on days already served.
Abu Dhabi also provides access to onward destinations in Etihad's network. The practical benefit for any particular journey still depends on connection timings and the services available on the intended travel date.
For airport and handling teams, the published daily timetable will be the useful operational reference. The announcement establishes a frequency increase and a start date, but does not quantify additional staffing or set out changes to ground-service arrangements.
Passengers planning November travel should distinguish the new schedule's effective date from the earlier announcement: daily operation is planned from 14 November.
