GE Aerospace and Poland's Military Aviation Works No. 1, known as WZL-1, have signed a final agreement for local maintenance, repair and overhaul support of T700 and CT7 engines. GE announced the agreement in Warsaw on 28 September.
Under the arrangement, WZL-1 will act as a licensed maintenance provider for engines used by Poland's armed forces. The covered helicopter fleet includes Boeing Apache, Sikorsky S-70i Black Hawk and Leonardo AW149 and AW101 aircraft. GE links the agreement to the localisation commitment accompanying Poland's 2024 Apache order.
For the maintenance sector, the specific development is an agreement placing this engine-support role with WZL-1 in Poland. The announcement describes a capability commitment; it does not provide an operational opening date, annual overhaul capacity or the number of new staff required.
WZL-1 operates facilities in Łódź and Dęblin. The release identifies the Dęblin business in the agreement and describes a broader objective of developing domestic engine-maintenance capability.
