Santiago, Chile — LATAM has signed a component-support agreement with Embraer for its incoming fleet of 24 E195-E2 jets, including selected spare parts to be held at the airline’s facilities in Brazil.
The 13 October announcement adds a maintenance arrangement to the fleet’s introduction. It follows the aircraft purchase: LATAM has 24 firm E195-E2 orders and options for another 50.
What the agreement covers
Embraer says its Pool Program covers more than 300 components across multiple aircraft systems. LATAM’s package includes component exchanges, repair and overhaul services, and local inventory.
For maintenance planners, those are different parts of the support chain. An exchange provides a replacement component, while repair and overhaul address the removed equipment. Holding selected parts locally also gives the airline stock at its Brazilian facilities.
The agreement therefore answers a practical question behind the fleet announcement: how the new aircraft will be supported when components need attention. It is separate from the earlier delivery and cabin developments reported by STAFFNEWS24.
Preparing for operation
Embraer says the arrangement is intended to support aircraft availability and control costs as LATAM introduces the type. The announcement does not give a contract value or identify which components will be stocked locally.
The next stage is putting that support into operation alongside the fleet rollout. The 50 purchase options remain separate from the 24 aircraft covered by the firm order.
