Geneva, Switzerland — SITA has agreed to acquire Collins Aerospace Airport Solutions, a business supplying technology for passenger processing, baggage and airport operations, SITA announced on 15 October.
The agreement covers capabilities used from check-in and self-service points through bag drop and the systems supporting airport operations. For terminal teams, the relevant question is who will provide and support those systems as the proposed combination progresses.
SITA expects the transaction to close in the first half of 2027. Completion remains subject to customary conditions, including the necessary regulatory approvals; the agreement is not a completed acquisition.
SITA says bringing the businesses together will strengthen customer support and improve passenger, baggage and airport operations. Those are the buyer’s stated expectations, rather than measured results of an integration.
The announcement does not disclose financial terms or set out changes to individual airport contracts, staffing or customer charges. It also gives no airport-by-airport implementation timetable.
