Sydney, Australia — Qantas is offering eligible domestic passengers fee-free flight changes for 16 October, after warning that planned security-screening industrial action could lengthen airport queues.

In its 15 October travel notice, the airline lists action from 6am to 10am and 5pm to 9pm on Friday. It advises passengers to arrive early ahead of their planned departure.

Who can change flights?

The offer covers bookings made before 16 October for departures that day: Qantas-operated flights from Sydney’s domestic Terminal 3, and Jetstar-operated domestic services carrying a Qantas flight number from Terminal 2.

Passengers can move to departures on 15, 16 or 17 October, keeping the same origin, destination and cabin. Seats must be available, and a fare difference may still apply. The waiver therefore removes the change fee, without promising a cost-free replacement flight.

Customers who booked directly with Qantas can use Manage Booking or contact the airline. Those who booked through a travel agent should contact their agent.
