Newport Beach, California, United States — Aviation Capital Group has signed a firm order for 75 Airbus A320neo-family aircraft, taking its historical orders for the family to 190.

Airbus announced the purchase on 16 October in a release issued from Toulouse, France. ACG chief executive and president Thomas Baker described it as the largest order in the lessor's nearly 40-year history.

Baker linked the decision to ACG's focus on newer narrowbody aircraft and demand from airlines. That is the company's assessment, rather than a disclosed list of customers for these aircraft.

Airbus says its relationship with ACG dates to 2007, when the lessor placed its first Airbus order.

The purchase adds aircraft to ACG's future order pipeline. It is not a delivery announcement or confirmation that any particular airline has secured a share of the order.

The release does not specify the A320neo/A321neo split, delivery schedule, financial terms or individual airline placements.
