Dubai, United Arab Emirates — dnata has committed AED175 million to more than 340 new ground-support assets since January, combining replacement equipment with extra capacity for the city's airports, the company announced on 12 October.

For ramp teams, the package includes aircraft loaders with cameras enabled by artificial intelligence (AI) beneath their platforms, intended to make difficult-to-see areas easier to monitor. It also strengthens pushback and towing capacity.

Equipment behind the turnaround

dnata operates about 2,800 motorised ground-support assets at Dubai International and Dubai World Central–Al Maktoum International. Its chief executive, Nabil Sultan Al Murr, says long procurement and delivery cycles require planning years ahead of demand.

The announcement describes a spending commitment, rather than confirming that every new unit is already in service.

Alongside fleet renewal, dnata is advancing automated aircraft docking and 3D printing for selected equipment components. It plans to showcase technologies at Airport Show 2026, giving airport operators a closer look at the practical tools behind aircraft handling.
