SWISS has introduced its first Starlink-equipped aircraft as part of a gradual connectivity rollout. Its 28 September announcement identifies Airbus A320neo HB-JDM, named Iseltwald, for entry into scheduled service that day, with Zurich–Thessaloniki listed as its first flight. The announcement sets out the operating plan; it is not an independent record of that flight's completion.
The airline says the satellite service is free for Miles & More members and Travel ID users in every travel class. Availability starts with equipped aircraft. The target to cover the entire SWISS fleet by the end of 2029 is a future milestone, rather than a description of today's coverage.
The passenger guidance is relevant to cabin teams: audio and video users are asked to wear headphones and heed crew announcements. Voice calls, video calls and live broadcasts are prohibited during flight, and passengers are asked to respect others' privacy.
A Lufthansa Group update dated 1 October reiterates the phased expansion. STAFFNEWS24's operational reading is that staff need to distinguish aircraft-specific availability from the eventual fleet-wide offer. Neither statement provides independent performance measurements or evidence of a change in cabin staffing.
